Monday, Feb 17.
This is a date I would like to remember for two reasons: 1. I jumped on the scales after taking a long six month slump from healthy living and was absolutely mortified by the results; and 2. I decided to embark on the Master Cleanse.
It was horrifying to see that I had not only packed on the pounds I lost from my healthy living in 2013, but I had reverted back to my starting weight -disheartening!
Having heard about the Master Cleanse one week ago, and subsequently ripping apart the Internet to find credible enough information about this program, I decided that today was the day.

(Okay, he doesn't look so creepy in that picture so the words don't seem so scary... Fail)
Anyway!
I set out to buy the ingredients. At Coles, I purchased Sea Salt (for the morning Flush), Maple Syrup (there was no grading on it, but I subsequently found a Grade 'C' bottle at a Health Food Store.. well, too late), and Cayenne Pepper.
I bought a Herbal Laxative Tea from a Health Food Store in North Adelaide, and lemons (organic and, well, not organic).
So I guess I'm all set then?
Tonight, after my last hearty meal (last solid food) for the next seven to ten days, I had my pre-cleanse: the herbal tea.
It tastes absolutely disgusting! But with every sip, I am telling myself that this will all be worth it.
Now before anyone judges me, I would like to point out that
1. I am of sound mind, and am well capable of making my own (informed) decisions
1. I am of sound mind, and am well capable of making my own (informed) decisions
2. My fiancé (who is also of sound mind, and fairly intelligent) is being supportive - so I don't feel like I'm doing something so outrageous
3. I have read that there isn't really scientific evidence to prove that this works. The reason I am doing this is to kick-start a weight loss which I will then maintain through exercise and a healthy, balanced diet.
Goodnight! Here is to poo-ing madly
